HotTakes is designed with privacy in mind. You do not need to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, or phone number to access the App.

However, certain technical information is processed to deliver sports content, support optional notifications, verify purchases, operate advertising, and maintain the security and functionality of the App.

• The HotTakes mobile application.

Deleting the App generally removes locally stored information, subject to your device's backup, restoration, and operating-system functionality.

When HotTakes communicates with our servers, certain technical information may be processed automatically.

• Internet Protocol (IP) address.
• Date and time of requests.
• Requested game, team, sport, or content identifiers.

We do not intentionally combine ordinary content requests into individualized histories of games or articles viewed.

If you enable server-sent push notifications, HotTakes may collect and store:

A notification token identifies an app installation for push delivery. It is not your name, telephone number, or Apple Account credentials.

However, notification tokens are device-related identifiers and may constitute personal information under applicable laws.

We use this information to deliver and manage the notifications you request.

3.4 Purchase and Subscription Information

When you purchase a subscription, season pass, or other paid entitlement, Apple processes the transaction through its App Store payment system.

To verify and manage access to purchased features, HotTakes may process:

• Purchased product identifiers.
• Subscription or pass status.
• Purchase, renewal, and expiration information.
• Refund, cancellation, or revocation status.
• Apple-issued transaction identifiers or verification information.

We do not receive your full credit card details, banking information, or Apple Account password.

The free version of HotTakes may display advertisements delivered by third-party advertising service providers.

These providers may automatically process information including:

• Advertisements displayed and related interactions.
• Advertising performance, diagnostic, and security information.

HotTakes does not use this information to create personalized advertising profiles.

The information processed by advertising providers may vary depending on the advertising technology, provider configuration, geographic location, applicable law, and consent preferences.

5. Sports Content and Artificial Intelligence

HotTakes uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to generate sports-related explanations, summaries, recaps, educational information, and humorous commentary.

These systems process sports-related data, which may include:

• Game statistics and results.
• Team and player information.
• Injury reports.
• Game events and developments.
• Other sports information obtained from data providers.

AI-generated commentary is produced through our backend systems using sports information rather than personal information about individual users.

HotTakes does not require you to submit prompts to an AI chatbot or provide personal information to generate sports commentary.

We do not intentionally transmit your notification token, personal correspondence, purchase information, or individual reading history to AI providers for commentary generation.

Content created for a particular game or sporting event may be presented to multiple users.

Our AI providers may process the sports-related information necessary to generate that content under their applicable service agreements and data-processing arrangements.

AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and should not be treated as a substitute for official league, team, or medical announcements.

6. Notifications

HotTakes offers optional notifications designed to provide timely and relevant sports information.

Depending on your preferences and the features available under your plan, notifications may include:

• Game Reminders: Notifications before a followed team begins playing.
• Live Game Updates: Significant game developments, explanations, and commentary.
• Injury Updates: Notable injury news involving relevant teams or sports.
• Final Scores: Game results and post-game information.
• Sports Updates: Occasional sports news, educational content, and entertaining commentary.

Notifications are optional and require permission through your device's notification settings.

6.1 Local Notifications

Certain notifications, such as scheduled game reminders, may be generated and stored locally on your device.

These notifications do not require a server-side push notification token.

6.2 Push Notifications

Other notifications may be sent through Apple's Push Notification service (APNs).

When you enable these features, we may store a notification token and the relevant preferences required to determine which notifications should be sent.

The notification token is shared with Apple as necessary to deliver notifications to your device.

We do not use notification tokens for advertising targeting.

We do not intentionally maintain individualized histories of notification opens or interactions, although limited operational information may be processed for delivery and troubleshooting.

6.3 Managing or Disabling Notifications

You can manage notification preferences within HotTakes or disable notifications through your device settings.

Disabling all server-sent notifications within HotTakes initiates removal of the associated notification registration from our servers when the request is successfully received and processed.

Disabling notifications solely through iOS Settings may prevent delivery without immediately removing an existing server-side registration.

Uninstalling the App does not automatically notify our servers. Invalid push tokens are removed when identified through our notification delivery processes or other applicable cleanup procedures.

You may also contact us to request deletion of information associated with your notification registration.

7. Advertising

7.1 Free and Paid Experiences

HotTakes may offer a free experience supported by advertisements.

Certain paid subscriptions or passes may include an ad-free experience, as specified in the applicable purchase description.

Advertisements help support the availability of free sports information, explanations, and entertainment.

7.2 Non-Personalized Advertising

HotTakes does not offer personalized advertising.

We intend to use programmatic advertising technology configured for non-personalized advertising.

Programmatic advertising refers to the automated process through which advertising inventory is made available to advertisers.

Advertisements may promote businesses, products, and services across a range of industries. They are not restricted to sports-related advertisers.

Ad selection may consider non-personal information or contextual signals, including:

• The application or placement in which an advertisement appears.
• The type of sports content being displayed.

We do not intentionally create advertising profiles based on your historical use of HotTakes or activity across unrelated applications and websites.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store using Apple's in-app purchase services.

Apple is responsible for processing payment credentials and managing transactions through your Apple Account.

HotTakes may receive or verify transaction information necessary to determine your access to purchased features.

This can include subscription status, purchased product identifiers, purchase and expiration dates, transaction identifiers, and refund or cancellation information.

We do not receive your full payment card details.

Purchase information is used for purposes including:

Locally Stored Information

Preferences, educational progress, and cached content generally remain on your device until removed through the App, application storage management, or deletion of the App.

Device backups and restoration services may affect the availability of locally stored information.

Notification Registrations

Notification tokens and associated preferences are retained while needed to provide server-sent notifications.

We remove registrations following successful deletion requests and through processes that identify invalid or obsolete tokens.

Technical Logs

Technical and security logs are retained for limited operational periods according to our hosting configuration, security requirements, and applicable obligations.

Purchase Information

Purchase-related information is processed or retained as necessary for entitlement verification, restoration, fraud prevention, support, and applicable legal or accounting requirements.

Apple independently maintains purchase records according to its own policies.

Advertising Information

Advertising providers retain information according to their respective policies, service arrangements, and applicable law.

We do not independently maintain individualized advertising profiles.

Support Correspondence

Information you provide through support or privacy enquiries is retained only as reasonably necessary to address the matter, maintain appropriate records, and comply with legal obligations.

When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it, subject to technical and legal limitations.

Residual copies may remain temporarily in backups or operational systems until their normal deletion cycles are completed.

Depending on the information and relevant systems, safeguards may include:
