The rules for using Hot Takes.

1. What Hot Takes Is

Hot Takes explains American football to people who have never watched a game. It provides schedules, scores, standings, lessons, and plain-English written commentary about games.

It is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Football League, any of its clubs, or any other sports organisation. Team names and league names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the teams and competitions being described.

2. Accuracy

Scores, statistics, and schedules come from third-party data providers and may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. The written commentary is generated automatically from those statistics and may contain mistakes.

The app is for learning and entertainment. We make no guarantee that anything in it is accurate, complete, or current.

3. Subscriptions

Hot Takes offers auto-renewing subscriptions, purchased through the App Store:

• Limited Pass: an annual subscription covering lessons, up to two followed teams, two weeks of schedule, and live coverage for games involving a team you follow.

• Season Pass: an annual subscription covering everything, with unlimited teams, the full schedule, and live coverage of every game.

Where an introductory free period is offered, it applies once per Apple Account and the length is stated on the purchase screen before you buy.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in Settings on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

If you buy a subscription with a free introductory period and then upgrade, the unused portion of the free period is forfeited, as Apple's terms provide.

4. Refunds

Purchases are made through Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. We cannot issue refunds directly. Requests can be made at https://reportaproblem.apple.com

5. Acceptable Use

Please do not attempt to reverse engineer the app, interfere with its servers, access it by automated means, or use it to build a competing dataset. The content in the app is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.

6. Availability

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the app. Live coverage depends on games being played and on third-party data providers, and may be unavailable at times. If we discontinue the app entirely while you hold an unexpired subscription, you may seek a refund from Apple for the unused portion.

7. Disclaimer and Liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law in your country that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated. The date at the top will change, and continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
